#1 WaterPik® Flosser
The Waterpik® is a water flosser that removes plaque and debris from between the teeth and below the gumline where traditional flossing and brushing cannot reach. It helps prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and bad breath. It's also up to 2x as effective as regular flossing and brushing because it removes 99.9 percent of plaque from the treated areas. The WaterPik is especially important for older patients or patients with gum disease or gingivitis. However, this product is not generally needed in healthy children or young adults.

This product has been around for 50 years, and it contains clinically-proven ingredients to maintain long-term results with twice-daily use to relieve dentin hypersensitivity.
However, we also speak with our patients about toothpaste options and their performances. Almost all toothpastes perform the same, but their effectiveness depends on the brusher, technique, and consistency of use.
#4 Biotène® and Act® Dry Mouth Mouthwashes
Dr. Belle and our team recommend Biotène® or Act® Dry Mouth for our older patients or patients who have dry mouth. These mouthwash products are specially formulated to manage and relieve dry mouth symptoms, and they have a balanced pH similar to natural saliva.
Older patients often take medications that cause dry mouth, and these mouthwashes can help relieve dryness.
