Overcrowded teeth make it difficult or impossible to smile with confidence. They can also negatively impact oral health and make brushing and flossing challenging.
If you’ve recently finished your ClearCorrect in Tampa or another orthodontic treatment, you may have questions about how to keep your teeth in their new straight positions. You don’t want your teeth to shift back to pre-orthodontics.
Below, I have compiled some information about my various orthodontic treatments and how to maintain your results.
Orthodontic Treatment Options
I’ll evaluate your case to help determine the best orthodontic option to address your needs and goals.
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are a time-tested solution to tooth misalignment. They rely on brackets fixed to the forward-facing teeth and threaded with guidewires. I adjust these wires every few weeks to bring your teeth in line. Sometimes, I recommend traditional braces if your orthodontic issues are particularly complex.
Six Month Smiles
Consider Six Month Smiles, a cosmetic orthodontic treatment. In this case, I concentrate on your smile line—the teeth that show when you smile. Because I’m not concerned with back teeth, I can typically complete the orthodontic work in a shorter period with Six Month Smiles.
ClearCorrect
ClearCorrect is like Invisalign, a series of clear aligners worn over the teeth for a specific period. Your aligners are made from impressions of your teeth, and you change them according to a provided schedule. You come to my dental office only periodically for monitoring.
Maintaining Your ClearCorrect Results
No matter your orthodontic option, wearing the provided retainer after treatment is vital.
A retainer is a fitted aligner worn over the teeth during the night. It prevents orthodontic relapse. If you lose or damage your retainer, it’s important to contact my dental office for a replacement.
